a few new pics and Update

Just wanted to add a few new pics of Adom. He loves to sit and watch Veggie Tales, eat popcorn, and sit in his rocking chair. This is what we do when he wakes up from his FOUR hour nap!

He usually wakes up looking like a crazed wild man (refer to picture #2) haha

And last but not least, I told you he would wear his Goggles all day if I let him... well same goes for his matching helmet! He looks starved in that picture but I assure you he is quite the chunky monkey!

Update on us: We're all doing fine. I'm getting used to my surroundings and am finding a lot of good shops! The Lord has blessed us recently so that we could pay for the TWO leaks that were found in the foundation at the house in K-town. Our neighbor there informed us that he is a general contractor and the siding and sheet rock repairs were supposed to be finished yesterday. So now I think the house is ready to show and I'm fully believing that the Lord will bring buyers VERY soon! We travelled to K-town this last weekend for my cousin Mark's wedding. It was a Beautiful and joyous occasion we all love him and his new wife Jamie very much and I am so excited to be able to call her family! Of course I took my camera but did I get any pictures? Of course not! I seriously need a small digital camera that will fit in a pocket or purse:) We had dinner with our friends the Neals and the Gossmanns Sat. night it was wonderful getting to visit with them. Then we went to church on Sunday. Verna left on Saturday with a couple of ladies from Impact Christian Fellowship for Florida! The Lord told her to go so she went! haha I love her so much! There is a revival going on in Florida that Todd Bentley is speaking at. The Lord is doing awesome things there. You can view it at 7:00 P.M. every night at us.god.tv Go to the programming option then Watch Now option. I can't wait to see what Verna brings back with her! Anyways, thats pretty much whats been going on with us Praise Jesus Adom is a good traveller. Because that trip is not a short one haha! We're going to the Fort Worth Stockyards this Saturday so we're definitely looking forward to that! Hopefully I'll remember to get some pictures of that! Blessings!!!

Fooled ya!

1. I had a surgery when I was 2 yrs old.
Yes I had surgery it was dental surgery!
2. I attended Tivy High School.
Fooled ya! I attended Tivy High School for 1 day! The first day of my senior year... there were so many people it scared me straight back to Nueces Canyon.
3. I've broken my arm 5 times.
Sad but true... my wrist 3 times and elbow twice all on the same arm. :(
4. I used to be a horse wrangler.
Yes I worked for my Dad one summer on the ranch I grew up on. I took all the tourists on tours of the ranch on horseback and took care of the horses as well.
5. I can't play any musical instruments.
THIS ONES THE LIE! I took 4 years of piano lessons and I played the clarinet for 6 years in school.
6. I graduated high school 1 semester early.
yep I flew the coop when I was 17.

The unimportance of being me

I was tagged by my sister-in-law, Kristi (forever ago, sorry)for an all-about-me with a twist. Here are six unimportant things about me, but one is false, can you figure out which one it is?

1. I had a surgery when I was 2 yrs old.
2. I attended Tivy High School.
3. I've broken my arm 5 times.
4. I used to be a horse wrangler.
5. I can't play any musical instruments.
6. I graduated high school 1 semester early.
Oh thats me when I was 3 in the picture. haha! What a goof! Adom definitely has my cheeks!
I'll post the answer in a few days!

To cut or not to cut

That is the question! I'm trying to decide if I want to cut my hair short again or let it grow out long. When it was short like the first picture I HAD to wear it curly but I really liked it and it was relatively easy to fix. When it is long like in the 2nd picture I had the option of wearing it curly or straight. I really don't know what to do. My hair straightener broke almost a month ago and their too expensive to buy right now so I'm wearing my hair curly everyday anyways. But I like it when its long because I can put it in a ponytail on days I don't feel like fixing it. What should I do? Please help me decide! I opened the comment board so anyone can comment, you don't need a google account to comment on my posts. Thanks everyone!

Napping and Movies

So Adom has been taking 3 to 4 hour naps everyday. So during that time I have either been reading East of Eden by John Steinbeck or watching random movies.

East of Eden is very good if you haven't read it you should. Yesterday I watched Antwone Fischer produced by Denzel Washington. I can't remember the last time I cried during a movie, but I did watching this movie. It wasn't a sad cry either. This movie was based on a true story, to imagine what this man went through and prevailed is amazing. So... I'm almost done with my book and my next read will be Raising up Boys by Dr. Dobson. I'm excited to start it. Many friends have recommended it to me that have boys of their own. I consider it a privilege to be raising a boy and I want to raise him to be a respectful man of God. So thats what I've been doing haha. We'll be making the trip to Kerrville next weekend (26th) for my cousin Mark's wedding. So I have that to look forward to till then. It always helps to have something to look forward to. My mom always says that and it's true.

Evening in the Park

Verna came to see us this past weekend! It was so wonderful having her here. Saturday evening we took Adom to the park, they have a beautiful landscaped garden there so lots of photo opps! We all look a bit tired, we had spent all day at the zoo ( see previous post) :)

We Love you Verna thank you for making my Birthday a memorable one!

More ZOO pics!

The animals were gorgeous! Greg took all the pictures, they turned out really good. The picture of the alligator is amazing. While we were there the alligator got up and swam into the water tank right in front of us! The zoo employees threw some chicken meat into the water so we got to see him gobble it up! Well, I didn't get to see it Adom was more interested in the otters. Thats where we were :) But Greg said it was intense!

Fort Worth ZOO

We went to the Fort Worth ZOO this weekend while Verna was visiting! It is an amazing zoo. Adom loved the monkeys and the otters. The landscaping was so beautiful there and it seemed like you were so close to the animals. They had a Texas Wild exhibit that was all native Texas animals. It was sooo big! We were there practically all day and so needless to say we were all very tired by the time we got home. I know there will be a lot more trips to this wonderful zoo! So anybody that comes to see us, you know what we'll be doing :)

Busy little boy

Adom has claimed the corner window in our apartment as his reading corner.
He amazes me how quiet he can get when hes reading his books. I was looking for him
everwhere and there he was sitting like a little angel reading his "five little monkeys
jumping on the bed".

He discovered how to get under Daddy's sink in our bathroom. He enjoyed playing "BOO" with me. Then he got out from underneath the sink and kept saying "gucky" which in our language is yucky. Thank you Adom for pointing our that we have a leak underneath the sink. I never would have known because we don't have anything stored under that sink. The maintenance man is going to fix it today :)

Color Wonder

Yesterday I bought Adom some Color Wonder markers and special paper. He loves them!! And I love them!! They only color on the special paper and nothing else... good for momma. So this is what we do during the day when we're not in the park. I've been trying to think of ways to keep him busy while we're inside. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We're here!

So we're here in Arlington... we got here last Saturday and the move went smoothly. Adom did really well and we couldn't have done it without Gigi and PopPop. We really like our neighborhood and not to mention our neighbors! haha... for those of you that don't know our neighbors are Dustin and Jessica Cowart, Greg's best friend since forever and Jessica is soon to be my best friend!!! OR ELSE! It's been a smooth transition Adom seems to like it, theres a huge beautiful park right across the street. So it's actually better than having our own yard almost. Greg really likes his job and it's not too bad of a commute for him. I love having a Super Target right down the road, its awesome and I really like their groceries. I miss HEB though they don't have them up here. Well i'll post some pics soon of our apartment and stuff. Kinda overwhelmed with the unpacking thing right now but I got the living room, dining room, and kitchen pretty much unpacked. I'm taking it slowly, what else have I got to do right? I went to a women's bible study with Jessica the other night at her Pastor's house. It was nice to be with other christian gals. We'll be visiting a lot of churches I pray that the Lord leads us to the one he wants us at. Thank you all for your prayers I think we're gonna like it here!
