Who Knew?!

A healthy diet and excercise is all you need to do to get back into shape! Psh, ya right!
That's what I thought anyways! I was like your kidding me, all I have to do is go to the gym at least 3 times a week and eat better than I was?!
The gym part has been great I LOVE going and so does Adom! The excercise makes me feel 10 times better than I did before. And as for "dieting" I really haven't been... just eating healthier and teaching myself to stop eating when I'm full (portion control).
So results? Drum roll please......... I've lost 8 lbs and I've lost 5% of my over all body fat in one month! I'll hopefully know how many inches I've lost over all by Friday. My goal is to lose another 12 lbs then i'll set a new goal after that. I'm sure you all desperately wanted to know all this information... sorry. I'm just excited that I'm seeing results!
Thanks for reading and God Bless!

A little homesick

So of course I like to torture myself once in a while and roam through all of our old pictures on the computer... these got me! I miss everyone! I miss the familiararity of Kerrville, and know that on days when I don't have anything to do that I can go down the road to Verna's and spend the day on her awesome porch!

Don't get me wrong, i like it here. It's new and exciting and theres tons of stuff to do. But I miss our friends and family back home.

So I've "Ventured into the Unknown" do I like it? Well, I do and I don't. I like that I'm able to join a gym here that provides childcare, I love all the parks and family friendly stuff to do thats available, I like that we have Dustin and Jessica next door (thats been a HUGE blessing). I really like the area that we live in as well. And we've recently found a home church! It's awesome and we truly feel blessed to have found it.

I don't like not having a whole lot to do during the day. We wake up go to the gym come home. That about sums up mine and Adom's day for ya. We both look forward to 5:45 all day long, when Greg walks through the door. I miss knowing where everything is. It took me forever just to find a bank! I had to drive 30 minutes away for a walmart with an oil change station (there was one closer but it's really dirty). Oh and I miss HEB terribly! Don't ask me why I just DO!

So here is a list of things that I hope happen in the next few months...
1. I pray that we either sell or rent out our house in Kerrville!
2. That I make friends in the area.
3. Lose weight haha (had to throw that one in)
4. That I start the feel like this IS home.
5. Become involved in our new church ( i know this will help with everything on this list).

So to sum it all up I really do like it here. I mainly miss the people! I know the Lord has brought us here to bless us. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us here in the Fort Worth area! Please keep us in your prayers as we are all still adjusting to city life :) Oh by the way Greg really likes his job it is a tremendous blessing on our lives!

Obsessed

So I've mentioned previously that I'm not the most talented person when it comes to the crafty department... but that doesn't mean that I don't absolutely LOVE crafty stuff! I envy women that can make their own cute summery blouses and make their kiddos beautiful pillow case dresses.

From clothing to jewelry I've noticed lately that I've become more and more attracted to vintage! So here it is, my new obsession www.etsy.com

Maybe this website is old news to some of you but I've only just discovered it and when I say obsessed it's an understatement! I've been able to find the most beautiful vintage jewelry that people are putting together on this website. Not only do I LOVE the way these pieces look but I love the fact that theres history behind each piece.

I wonder who wore that locket? Whos pictures did these lockets hold close to their beloveds hearts? Aw, I know how romantic right?! Heehee!

So guess what I did... I bought a pattern online to try and make my own "cute summery blouse"! Only one problem, I don't know how to sew plus I don't even own a sewing machine! Problem solved: Verna does! Shes going to teach me when we go down for Adom's birthday the end of July!

I can not tell you how excited I am! Well I guess I sort of just did. Anyways, hopefully I'll catch on quick to Verna's teaching and I'll have myself a hobby! Amanda told me I needed one haha.

Anyways, check out the website it's not all vintage (i'm just particular to that). Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Scanning through numerous galleries waiting for that one thing to pop out at me and say "BUY ME"! So enticing!

Happy Searching!

Mommy Milestones

I found this on a new blog I just discovered. I thought it was hilarious because it is so true!

1 Month(post baby): Your Mommy's morning hygiene routine consists of washing her face with a wipe, while she's changing you.

3 Months(post baby): Your Mommy has finally mastered the art of nursing you, without completely exposing herself to the public. Some mommies may progress even faster and be able to nurse without walking away with a wet circle on their shirts.

5 Months(post baby): Your Mommy's separation anxiety subsides and she may trust a babysitter to watch you as she checks the mail.

7 Months(post baby): Your Mommy shows some social development and may be able to gather her mind and put sentences together to talk to other mommies at the park. Some mommies progress faster at this stage, depending on if they are sleeping through the night.

9 Months(post baby): Your Mommy finally realizes that she no longer needs to eat for two, and joins a weight loss program.

10 Months(post baby): Your Mommy decides that maybe all germs aren't bad and uses the five second rule when your beloved pacifier falls on the ground.

12 Months(post baby): Your Mommy begins to forget all the pain and exhaustion you have caused her this past year and tries to convince your Daddy that all children should grow up with siblings.

Happy Father's Day

Well Greg's Father's Day started out with a big homeade breakfast then we all got ready to go to church.
We've found a wonderful church in Fort Worth that we both really enjoy! We then went to lunch at Jason's Deli and came home to get ready for the waterpark! The water park we went to was for younger children so it was perfect for Adom! Even though he wasn't too thrilled with the whole experience he did like the water that shot up out of the ground. We weren't there long but it wore him out (see last pic) haha! We had a busy wonderful day with Daddy and we are so blessed to have him for a father and husband! We love you Greg (Daddy)! Oh Adom and I got him a new shirt from Target and one of his favorite movies, The Princess Bride. I also relieved him from diaper duty for the whole day! haha he really enjoyed the last gift! :)

Night Out

So we did it! We got up the nerve and HIRED a babysitter! We asked a girl that our friend Jessica Cowart teaches at her school to watch Adom for the evening. She was wonderful! She fed him, bathed him, played with him, and even put him to bed with no problems what so ever. Meanwhile we went out with Dustin and Jessica to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and afterwards a movie. We had a great time even though the movie STANK! We saw "Don't mess with the Zohan" Adam Sandler's new movie. Granted there were several funny moments through the way too long movie. But they took things a little too far. I'm modest so I won't elaborate but we spent $18 bucks on movie tickets so it aggravated me just a tad. When did movies become so expensive? Well that was my little rant... but all in all the evening was very nice and we will definitely be asking our new babysitter to visit again soon!

Crafty

I found this button while looking at vintage inspired jewelry items... sadly it was sold out :( I would proudly sport this button! I am by far the least talented person when it comes to the craft department... so this button comes with a little irony for me ;)
Don't worry I wouldn't sport the button currently (Not Preggo)!

Vacation

Ok so I know it's been forever since I've posted anything... Sorry! We left last Friday for Kerrville to see family and friends and we didn't get back till Tuesday evening. We had a wonderful time! Uncle Ethan and Aunt Mandy drove in from South Carolina so if was great getting to see them! Adom also got to spend a lot of time playing with lots of kiddos including his cousins Bella and Landry. I didn't get a whole lot of pictures but I'll post some more later on.

Adom loves his cousins! They played so well together.

He liked to play around the pool but not in it haha!

Watching cartoons in bed with Daddy is the best!

Prayers

Please pray for Adom, we went to the doctor this afternoon and he has double ear infections and really bad congestion. On the plus side we found a new doctor that I think we're going to like. Also please be praying for Ryan and April Simpson's daughter Brooke. She has asthma and had to go into the hospital in Kerrville last night for oxygen treatments. They think she might have the beginnings stages of pneumonia but are not sure. She was doing better when I talked to April this morning though. Thanks for the prayers! God Bless!
