Goodbye Dear Friend

We are here today to bid farewell to a dear friend. He goes by many names; Paci, Binky, but there is one name that we don't know where it came from but it's what Adom has named him. MIMI. We've figured out that if Adom really likes something he'll give it it's own special name. For example, French Fries are "Dadas" , the piano at GiGi and PopPop's is "Weeano" and finally the pacifier is "Mimi".

As you can see this mimi has been there since the beginning. I swore before we had him that I would not give our child a pacifier, well after many sleepless nights I gave in as any sleep deprived new mother would. It has not been an easy week without mimi and I have to admit I have given in and given him his bestest friend when I couldn't take it any longer.

Mimi never spanked him or said a harsh word, mimi was always there for him when he didn't feel good. At this very moment my son is still asleep at 9:15 in the morning, which he NEVER does. I believe it is because we gave in last night and now he is relishing every moment he can with his mimi. Poor lil' guy cried for almost an hour :(

I know that it is inevitable that mimi will be gone soon. I most certainly don't want a teenager running around my house saying " Mom have you seen my car keys and my mimi?". Yikes!

But it is a sad day for me as well when we say goodbye to his friend. It's just one more "baby" thing that is drifting away. You moms out there know what I mean. The day when you realize your "baby" is actually a big boy now. Well I will go on saying what my parents have said all along and now I fully understand, "you will always be my baby".

Thanks for the prayers!

So we've got a bite on our house hooray! We've agreed on a price and if everything goes through our closing date will be in early August! The inspection and appraisal is still to come so don't stop praying yet :) It's gone smoothly so far. We loved our house but are glad that it's selling. We have very precious memories in this house and we pray that it blesses it's new owner with equally wonderful moments! Thanks for all your prayers, they worked!

Past week

So I know I haven't been posting a whole lot lately... thats because I keep forgetting to take my camera anywhere! I'm going to try and get better about that :)

So no pictures but heres what we've been up to... Last night we had dinner with our friends Jeff and Kelli Gossmann. They were in town for the night and we had a blast with them. We had dinner then went and cruised the mall haha. It was so great to see them! Adom and their son Gabe played and laughed all evening. Dang I can't believe neither one of us had a camera :(

This past weekend we met up with some friends and watched the fireworks. It was great! Although Adom was terrified the first 5 minutes he eventually gave in and laid on my lap and watched as we all ooohed and aaahhed. Then Saturday we met my Dad and his friend Barbara (AKA Babs) in Waco and spent a wonderful day with them stuffing our faces with cajun food and napping at her house.

I think we wore Adom completely out! He unfortunately suffers from allergies like the rest of us and they really got to him over the weekend but I think hes finally recovering. And on top of all that we took the beloved pacifier (AKA mimi) away for good :( He's done really well without it, he asks about it once in a while but we just tell him it's "broken" haha!

To add to my suffering, I bought my baby boy his first potty last week! Hes getting so big so quick! He's not using the potty yet, I just wanted him to get used to seeing it around :) He is such an easy kid I'm hoping potty training will be as easy as everything else has been. But I'm not holding my breath!

We're also awaiting the arrival of our good friends, Ryan and Marissa Neal's baby girl Emery Joy. We can't wait to meet her! I guessed she would arrive TODAY so we'll see if I was right!

Oh and we were just informed that someone put an offer on our house in Kerrville! So please be praying that everything works out and we can sell our house! Wow this turned out to be a long post, sorry. Please check out our family web album for updated pictures! The link is to the right on this page :) God Bless and thanks for reading!

A must read

"Deadline" by Randy Alcorn is one of the best books I've ever read! I love this author, he also wrote "Safely Home" which is equally as good. I love the heated political arguments that are in this book and the way that he describes heaven is overwhelming. I find myself crying with an outstanding sense of joy one minute then crying with immense sadness the next. I love it! If you like christian novels than this should definitely be on your "next to read" list!
